Who We Are?

The African Network LLR is a dedicated organisation for Africans and those of African heritage who believe in advancing the objectives of our community. Based in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, we provide a platform for members to connect with diverse personalities, sharing a wide range of skills, knowledge, and expertise.

Our Services and Programmes

The African Network LLR provides comprehensive support through four primary pillars of service:
1. Community Empowerment Forums
We host dedicated educational and empowering programmes designed to provide tailored support for every member of the family.
  • Young People’s Forum:Focused on raising aspirations and providing growth opportunities for the next generation.
  • Women’s Forum:A space for empowerment, networking, and addressing specific needs within the community.
  • Men’s Forum:Dedicated to support, discussion, and fostering strong community leadership.
  • Parent’s Forum:Providing resources and a support network for families navigating local services.
3. Advocacy and Integration

We work to ensure that Africans in LLR are actively involved in the socio-economic and political landscape.

  • Stakeholder Liaison:We network with local stakeholders to ensure our voices are heard at local and national levels
  • Capacity Building: We build the capacity of actors involved in African integration and ensure projects remain coherent and effective.
  • Expert Brainstorming:We host sessions on key issues affecting African prosperity, managed by a network of internal experts.
2. Cultural Heritage and Arts

We actively promote the profile of African cultures and values through high-visibility events.

  • Annual Festivals: We organise the African Day, African Music Festival, and the African Arts and Craft Festival.
  • National Celebrations: Honouring the diversity of our continent through Africa National Days.
  • Fashion and Lifestyle: Showcasing our heritage via the African Cultural and Fashion Week and the African Marathon.
4. Economic and Social Development

We stimulate growth by sharing available opportunities and promoting economic acceleration within the community.

  • Service Integration:We help members navigate and embed themselves into local, national, and international services.
  • Resource Sharing:Honouring the diversity of our continent through Africa National Days.

Special Project: African Cultural Centre LLR

Our most ambitious initiative is the realisation of the first-ever African Cultural Centre in the UK. This project serves as a cornerstone for our cultural promotion and community empowerment efforts.
