Celebrating Resilience: A Look Back at Our Mother’s Day Event

African Network-Confident woman

We recently came together to celebrate a truly significant occasion: “Unveiling the Strength of a Woman in the Community.” Hosted by the Women of African Network, this Mother’s Day celebration was a powerful tribute to the resilience and determination of the women who anchor our families and neighbourhoods.

Women are often the unsung heroes of our communities, and this event was dedicated to recognising that their collective strength is the backbone of so many of our relationships and organisations.

Event Highlights

The afternoon was filled with inspiration and community spirit:

  • Gracious Hosting: The event was hosted by Rev. Nora Badu, who helped create a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere.
  • Empowering Speakers: We were honoured to have Councillor Asiomanedu Joel as a featured speaker, providing deep insights into female leadership and community impact. The afternoon also featured several other voices from across our community.
  • A Message of Strength: The discussions focused on how resilience and determination define the roles women play in every facet of society.
