George Floyd death: African Network LLR Observed a 2 Minutes Silence at the Leicester Clock Tower

On May 25, 2020, a video that went viral of a black man, George Floyd, a 46-year old posted on social media showing a Minneapolis white police officer, Derek Chauvin kneeling on George during his arrest. The video below from YouTube showed Floyd, 46, being knelt on by one officer- Derek Chauvin.

A screenshot we got from CNN is that of a video that shows the other side of the Minneapolis police vehicle where the arrest occurred. It appears to show Chauvin and two other officers kneeling on George Floyd.

Floyd could be heard saying I can't breathe in the video. "Please, let me stand. Please man."

African Network LLR in memory of the death of Floyd organised a 2 minutes silence at the Leicester City Clock Tower.
Members of the African Network could be seen holding placards with messages such as Justice for All, Saying Nothing Equals Complicity, RIP George We Got You.
The event at the Clock Tower started at 11:45am on Saturday June 6, 2020. At 12 midday a candle was lit and a 2 minutes silence observed by the network members and the many other people of all colours who were present at the Clock Tower. Among those joined to observe the solemn reflection at the Clock Tower where the Black Lives Matter; a Global Network build to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.

The Conservative candidate for the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire, Rupert Matthews and the Leicester City Labour Councillor for Beaumont Leys Ward, Hermant Bhatia also joined the African Network LLR at the Clock Tower.
